The April 16th ride will go south (so we'll have some hills!) We'll do the Colony Loop, which includes Chuckanut Drive as well as Lake Samish. Feel free to download the print out the map/cues before the ride. NOTE THIS MAP SHOWS THE START AND END IN DOWNTOWN. The April 16 Slog Ride will start and end at Boulevard Park, as usual. Start and end at Boulevard Park makes the route about 30 miles long.

This ride began in 2013 as a ride for those who want to train up for long rides. We start with a relatively short distance in April (30 miles) and work up to long rides in August and September (70-80 miles). A number of the group likes to ride the Tour de Whatcom or Chuckanut Classic century rides together in July and August.

Average speed is 12-15 mph, and often there are faster riders who like to go on ahead. But no worries, there will always be a rider or ride leader to hang back with the 12 mph riders. And everyone stops at various catch-up spots along the way to let the slower riders get back in the group.

Different ride leader each week. Ride leader duties will trade off between Phred Morin, Susan Willhoft, and Katie Collins. Route maps will be posted each week on the event calendar. Print out a map ahead of time for yourself if you are worried about getting separated from the group (or if you think you'll want to turn around and head back to town earlier than the others).

Starting meetup spot: Boulevard Park in Fairhaven, meet at the bike racks behind Woods Coffee.  Start time 9:30 am in April and May, moving to 9:00 am June through September.
