Bike to Work and School Day 2016 – thank you to our sponsors!
The MBBC had two Bike to Work Day stations in 2016: (1) Bellingham’s station near Sunnyland School, organized by Pam Fonda, and (2) Everson/Nooksack station, organized by Mary Cole. Thank you to Pam and Mary as well as all our generous Whatcom County sponsors who provided treats and prizes at our stations! It Takes A Village to raise a Bike station, and here is our village. Please support these businesses who support our community!

Michael Richard: Web/graphic design and photography/video
I designed this site for MBBC and share its upkeep with MBBC board member Jennifer.
A recent transplant to Bellingham from Maine, my clients are scattered around the country and are most often entrepreneurs, artists, non-profit organizations, and professionals. I like to think that my work is unique: visually striking, authentic, clean, simple. I am primarily developing using WordPress, a versatile content management system (CMS) and pay attention that all of my sites work on mobile and tablet devices. Clients love the opportunity to update content themselves, whenever it suits them, at no expense.
I also work on clients’ requests for print ads and brochures, photos for their websites, Constant Contact banners and email layouts, and custom print projects. I can video events and create video promos and interviews for websites. I can also set up moderate sized shopping cart options as well as capture data with online forms.
My prices are affordable and projects come together swiftly and support is available for all my clients. I’d love the chance to talk to you if you are considering services I offer.
Robin Robertson: Fairhaven Fitness and Bellingham Tennis; Cycle Moles Training Camps; Power to Pedal
About six years ago I had an “ah-ha” moment and thought “there must be other people just like me exercising on their own who need no-impact workouts that are easy on your joints. Or folks who want a great workout with a progressive plan.”
I developed the Cycle Moles Winter Training Camp that I continue to coach at my club.* This became my test kitchen to see what worked with a wide variety of people and skill levels. We have every type of cyclist – from those who haven’t been on a bike for years to those who race for the local teams – and everyone in between.
* Note of irony – I own and manage a tennis & health club but can’t play tennis because of my knees. Hmmm….
Through the Cycle Moles camps (which now run year-round), I’ve developed the ideal combination of teaching good body position and body mechanics, with methods to increase power and endurance. My Cycle Moles Winter Training group typically increases their power (as measured by watts) from 10 – 40% over a 4 month period. That improvement in strength and stamina is outstanding!**
I have taken all of that knowledge and proven results and distilled it into “Power to Pedal” …a series of 6 training videos that is the starting block for fitness, strength, and stamina.
