Cyclocross season is here!
With two presenters and six races this season, you'll have plenty of opportunity to take part in the action.
Bellingham's own
Cascade Cross series will host races on November 16, December 14, and January 4.
This year,
Lemon Peel Productions is putting on the NWGP CX series: Squalicum Park on September 28, October 26 at Northern State in Sedro-Woolley, and Lake Padden on November 9.
Bellingham 'cross enthusiasts meet for practices in the fall to get revved up for the grassy 'n mud mayhem of cyclocross. One group meets Thursdays in September at Memorial Park; another group hosts cyclocross practice every Wednesday in October and November at Lake Padden.
The Bellingham-area cyclocross scene is known for its blend of fun and fury, with challenging courses and modest prizes for the competitive crowd, stirred up with costumes, frivolity and friends for all.
There's a small fee to sign up to race, and all you need is a bike and a helmet.
Not sure if you want to ride? It's great fun to watch! Bring a picnic and something to keep your toes warm and join in the fun. The riders need cheering on, and how many other occasions do you have to break out your cowbell?
