Why Carless Whisper is car-free
2024 was our first year going car free, and most of our teams first year doing ski-to-sea. We're hooked. It was cold, rainy, challenging and everything we could have wanted for a shared adventure.
Getting the boat trailer together was hectic, but our design proved worthy enough to transport our boats over 50-miles throughout the county over the course of the weekend. We ended up finishing 3rd in car-free and top 30 overall.
Notably we are one of the few car-free teams that is 100% self-supported. No sherpas, no help from outside sources. We leave no trace and we haul everything we need to complete our leg.
In 2025, our goal is to win the car-free division and come top ten overall. Every athlete on our team lives in Whatcom County.
