About this event

A big trip around Vancouver - probably the most scenic city in the world. It's a Monday.....a perfect excuse for a long weekend!
We will be in the busy city of Vancouver BC on a mix of city streets, separated trails and greenways and bike lanes in traffic. There are a few short gravel sections with at least one steep gravel descent (15%). Don't worry, I will probably be walking the bike too on the tricky bits!
With all the stop and go and hills, it is a moderately challenging route of
47 miles and 3,800 feet of climbing.

Please carpool if possible.

Please refer to the Ride classification table in the rides menu.
Tempo B (Our average speed may drop well below this due to all the start-stop riding but if you are comfortable with 13-16 on the flat and 50ish very hilly miles, you're capable of enjoying this ride).
Topography D (some long steady climbs, some steep descents - keep speed controlled as some areas are congested)
Traffic D (it's Vancouver! There will be long stretches of separated bikeway but also some areas of high vehicle, pedestrian and cyclist congestion. Bring a bell and use it. the sea wall in Stanley Park is a particularly congested area with many pedestrians, skaters and bikers....be vigilant and expect the unexpected!)
Terrain B

We hope to break for lunch along the route about 25-30 miles. We will stop for snack breaks and to take in the scenery regularly along the route. This is a no- drop ride. We will regroup regularly at intersections and at the top of hills. Please look out for each other and let the ride leaders know of any issues that you or your ride companions are having.
