About this event

Not to steal riders and glory from any other events happening this weekend but...

Basics: 35 miles, 4000 ft of elevation, plus whatever you add riding to the ride (heavily encouraged). Guesstimated completion 3-4 hrs.
-Tempo: D | The descent down the back is typically smooth and you can get rolling pretty fast down it. I do not consider myself a crazy descender and like my brakes, and I feel comfortable gaining some speed through this section. The climbing portion will be distinctly slower, see breakdown for details.
-Topography: D | Steep! Big climb! At times rocky!
-Traffic: D | Northshore road can be... yeah... hoping for safety in numbers!
-Terrain: D | Expect smooth trail to bumpy fire road, a little chunky in certain parts

Weather: Cloudy, low 50s, light rain (no dust!)

Essential Info:
>Pre-ride talk starts at 7:30a
>Ride starts/ends at LakeLine, please join me after for a cup of coffee!
>This is a no drop ride. We will regroup at major turns, for mechanicals, and at the top of climbs.
>Please bring food, water, and everything you might need to repair the basics on your bike, it's a long walk home :/
>I will have the route loaded to a Garmin that will be off unless I am feeling unsure about a turn.

Ride Breakdown:
Section 1: Northshore Road. Warming up, but I'd like to roll because I hate cars. ~14 mph avg.
Section 2: Chanterelle Trail. Sometimes steep, though not incredibly technical. Breaks at Chanterelle Overlook, Brown Pow offshoot, and at intersection with Wickersham Truck Trail. I plan to spend a lot of time in my 29:36.
Section 3: Ridgeline forest road. Why is the steepest section always at the top? Not afraid to hike-a-bike sometimes :) There is an overlook that I love that always takes me 2 tries to find. Maybe this is the time?
Section 4: Descent to Y road. Fast. Nice gravel. Fun! Please ride within your limits.
Section 5: The road home. 12-16 mph average depending on fatigue
