This winter, MBBC Ride Leader Bob Dinehart is teaching three sections of Ride Leader Training.

We've had a lot of requests to expand the number and kind of rides we offer, and we're looking to our members to shape the rides we'll be able to offer. This is your chance!

The trainings will be offered in person at the Roosevelt Neighborhood Resource Center at 2303 Moore Street this winter. Bob will take us through a slide presentation with everything you need to know. Then, we'll schedule you for some on-the-bike training, and you'll join the ranks of Ride Leaders.

The trainings are from 6:30 to 8 p.m. on Thursday, January 25, Tuesday, February 27, and Monday, March 25.

You only need to attend one classroom training. The final on-bike training will be scheduled with folks who have completed the classroom training this spring.

What do Ride Leaders do? They initiate and lead rides! The also make sure everyone on their ride is aware of the basics of safety and group riding. If there is an emergency or incident, the Ride Leader is the representative of the club on the scene. Ride Leaders also have the responsibility to cancel the ride if conditions don't meet the safety and comfort standards of the riders.

To sign up, visit one of the Event page listings and click the Registration button. Classes are free, but registration is required. If you're not currently a member, you're welcome to take the training, but you must become a member to lead a Mt. Baker Bike Club ride.

Whether you want to lead three rides, or thirty, please sign up for the trainings. We'd love to have you with us!
